Belgian beer specialist Solvay Society is stretching its pay it forward campaign target after a huge initial take-up.

Solvay Society is looking to expand its Leytonstone taproom into a brewpub, bringing the brewery to Leytonstone and putting the tanks and taps together for the first time.

Meeting the stretch target will allow the company to add another tank to the soon-to-be-relocated brewery.

The team are offering drinkers the chance to pay it forward and get double their money behind the bar while aiding the expansion plans.

Since meeting the initial target, Solvay Society has also qualified for the Mayor Of London’s £5,000 grant, which will help towards flooring and a canning line in the new brewpub.

Founder, head brewer, and director, Roman Hochuli, said: “We had grand plans for 2020 that had included a move to a new site and, like many things, this was scuppered by covid-19.

Fresher beer, brewery tours

“This has made us even more determined to kick on and make new plans to find a new home for the brewery in the arch next door to our Leytonstone tap room, allowing us to double our production, move canning in house and, crucially, move our taps and tanks closer together.

“This means fresher beer, brewery tours, and more space to enjoy Solvay Society’s beers right from the source.”

Solvay Society undertook a rebrand in 2020, with its beers making the leap from bottles to cans. The feedback has been resoundingly positive, with the brand being featured in Pete Brown’s book Beer By Design.

Last year started off well with Witbier x Session IPA, Superposition, being named SIBA champion wheat beer at Love Beer London.
